What should I wear?
Wear something you like. If you want to do smart casual, that’s fine. If you want to wear jeans, that’s fine, too. Just no shorts, please. Or flipflops, or sandals with socks – Les doesn’t need competition.
Also, we’d love it if you’d dress up! Yes, as in costumes. After all, this is a science fiction/fantasy/steampunk wedding. Just no vampires, please – we have a moral objection. Below are some ideas of what you could do – click on the images for bigger versions.
The food at our wedding will be spit-braai, served buffet style. There will be meat, chicken and vegetables, including vegan and Halaal options and, because the bride is allergic to wheat, wheat-free options. Of course, we couldn’t let Pi Day pass without pie somewhere on the menu, so dessert will be a buffet of pies – also with wheat-free options. If you have a specific dietary need not covered in these options please let us know on the RSVP page and we will see whether we will be able to accommodate it.
Can I bring my friend/lover/kid/recent acquaintance so I won’t feel awkward dancing by myself, even though they’re not on the invitation?
Sorry, no. We’re trying to work within the confines of our budget to ensure that everyone has an awesome time. Unfortunately, that means we’re asking that everyone RSVP for only the names listed on the invitation – kids or adult. In exchange, we promise you will know someone in attendance besides the couple, and we’ll be sure to take that into account in the seating.
In the course of our planning, we’ve set aside a few wishlists of some nice-to-haves that we’d enjoy. A little bit geeky, a little bit fun, a lot of stuff that will suit us!

Too offbeat for you? We made some more traditional lists, too:
